Schaping stories

2025

The project features ceramic pieces created by women artisans from the village of Sejnane in northern Tunisia. This tradition, passed down from generation to generation and recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage, includes functional, decorative, and playful clay objects inspired by nature. The clay is collected, cleaned, soaked, and shaped by hand. The pieces are fired in an open fire, and during a second firing under straw, they acquire their characteristic black metallic finish. Illustrations showing the making process and the finished works are printed on postcards and sent with each ordered vase.

The project has been exhibited at Wilhelm Hallen during Berlin Art Week, at Fondazione Officine Saffi in Milan, and at The Venice Venice Hotel, and continues to be presented in art spaces.
