The project explores how theatrical and architectural elements can create new public spaces that foster collective experiences. Based on historical stage forms, a “transformation pool” was assembled, from which six prototypes of flexible, adaptable performance spaces were developed.

These temporary structures can be integrated into familiar urban locations — a street, a square, a bridge, a station, a ruin, and a park. Using Kreuzberg as an example, the thesis demonstrates how such spaces can transform the city into a platform for performative arts.

The project investigates the delicate boundary between spectator and performer and shows how the city itself can unfold as a living theatrical stage.
